Authors submitting reports to the Excavations bulletin should e-mail them as .rtf (Rich Text Format) attachments to isbennet@iol.ie and follow this up with hard copy posted to Isabel Bennett, Glen Fahan, Ventry, Tralee, Co. Kerry. (Please see also Guidelines for Authors.)
Applying for a licence Applications for excavation licences for the Republic of Ireland should be made to The Licensing Section, the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Dún Scéine, Harcourt Lane, Dublin 2; tel. (+353 1) 647 2300; LoCall 1890 321 421; fax (+353 1) 662 0283. Applications for excavation licences for Northern Ireland should be made to the Environment and Heritage Service, Department of the Environment, 5-33 Hill Street, Belfast BT1 2LA: e-mail hm@doeni.gov.uk.

The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government provides a Heritage Data website that gives access to information on the Sites and Monuments Record, the Recorded Monuments Record, Monuments in State Care, Natural Heritage Areas, Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas (Birds' Directive), Nature Reserves and National Parks. The Environment and Heritage Service website holds the Northern Ireland Sites and Monuments Database and the Northern Ireland Buildings Database.
