Cist and Pit Burial
O101234
In November 1978 two burials were found when topsoil was stripped at a quarry. One was a crouched inhumation of a 20 year old male accompanied by a food vessel. The burial was placed in a trapezoidal cist formed of four large stones and roofed with a capstone. Five metres from the cist there was a pit burial containing a cinerary urn inverted over a cremation. This was almost totally destroyed.
