Testing was carried out at Tone's Public House, 1 Main Street, Naas, on 11 January 1999. One test-trench was mechanically excavated. It measured c. 2.8m x 0.65m on a north-south axis and was excavated to the depth of the upper surface of a natural shale deposit. No archaeological features were uncovered.
