Eleven trenches were excavated in three disused fields to the west and south of the AIB bank fronting on to High Street, in advance of a proposed development. The site is partially located within the eastern zone of potential for the historic town of Croom, LI030–025. Nothing of an archaeological nature was identified during the testing.
