Garranmore
Possible enclosure

The development site at Garranmore, Pallasgreen, actually encompasses LI024–021, a potential enclosure identified by aerial photograph. This enclosure would appear to be c. 180m north–south by 130m. The testing strategy devised had a dual purpose, to determine the presence or absence of archaeology along the footprint of the proposed development and to pinpoint the location of a possible archaeological monument identified from aerial photography. In total ten trenches were opened in the vicinity of this site. No trace of the monument or features or finds of an archaeological nature were uncovered in any of the trenches opened.
