The proposed development at Gortacrank, Effin, Co. Limerick, encompasses an area of 3200m2, of which the impacts of the footprint of the proposed building take in some 300m2. The development was sited partly within the constraint zones of LI047–067 and LI047–068, ecclesiastical remains including a holy well and graveyard. Three test-trenches were excavated at the locations of greater ground impacts on 14 July 2007 and no finds or features of archaeological significance were exposed.
